Commissions

A commission gives you the opportunity to create something personal to you, inspired by a place, memory or feeling you want to bring into your home. Your painting is created specifically for your space, in the size and colours that feel right, while staying true to my style.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before we begin. I’ll work with you to develop the idea and guide you through each step of the process, from our first conversation to the finished painting in your home.

I take on a limited number of commission projects each year, so I can give each painting the time and attention it deserves.

  • 1. WE START WITH YOU

    We’ll meet in person or online to talk about your space, size, timeline and inspiration. Most importantly, I want to know how you want the painting to feel in your home.

    You don’t need to have all the ideas figured out. I can help you develop a concept based on what you’re drawn to.

    Most commissions take approximately 10–12 weeks from start to finish.

    2. I CREATE YOUR PROPOSAL

    I’ll put together a proposal based on everything we discussed, including the direction for your painting, size, timeline and final quote.

    This makes sure we’re both on the same page before I begin.

    3. YOUR COMMISSION SPOT IS BOOKED

    Once you’re happy with the direction, a 50% deposit secures your commission and I begin bringing your painting to life.

    4. YOU’RE PART OF THE PROCESS

    As your painting gets close to completion, I’ll send you detailed photos and videos so you can see how it’s coming together and share your input.

    If you’re local, you’re also welcome to visit my studio and see it in person.

    5. FROM FINAL APPROVAL TO YOUR HOME

    After your feedback, I’ll make any final adjustments and send the images of the painting to you for approval.

    Once approved, I’ll prepare it for shipping or delivery. The remaining balance is due before the painting leaves my studio.

    if you need help with installation and framing, this can be arranged upon request.

  • Commissioned paintings begin at 36" × 36", with pricing based on the size and scope of the piece. As I take on a limited number of commissions each year, preference is given to larger-scale works.

  • My commission process is designed to make sure we’re on the same page before I begin painting. We’ll talk through your ideas, inspiration, colours and the feeling you want for your space, and I’ll create a proposal for you to review before moving forward.

    Once the painting is nearly complete, I’ll send you detailed photos and videos for your feedback. Two rounds of revisions are included so we can make any adjustments needed before the painting is finalized.

    If for any reason you change your mind about the commission, your deposit is non-refundable but can be applied as credit toward an available original painting from my existing inventory.
