There’s a certain point in the day when everything begins to soften. The light changes, the pace feels slower, and the things that felt so urgent a few hours ago somehow don’t seem quite as important anymore.
Where Day Slows wasn’t painted from one single place. I was trying to capture that feeling of finally giving yourself permission to stop. Standing by the water, taking a deep breath of salt air and slowly letting it out. Or walking through the door after a long day, putting your bags down, and sitting for just a minute before tending to the kids, making dinner, or moving on to the next thing.
It’s that pause when you let your mind catch up with the rest of you and finally release the breath you didn’t realize you were holding.
I painted this piece as a reminder that your days don’t always have to be filled from beginning to end. There can be space to slow down, breathe, and simply enjoy where you are.
